New pencil cases - back to school!

Summer holidays are nearly over....I remember the blow of going back to school be softened by the puchase of a new pencil case! I've just got some new stock into the shop which I think both adults & children will enjoy. Notebooks & purses to match prices £6 - £8 bargains!!

I've also got these really cute little wooden birdie pegs. They look sweet just pegged out in a line but also in the little bird house they are supplied in.

Continuing with the bird theme these metal pieces make brilliant gifts, the jewellery tree looks lovely just as a decoration but is great for displaying your earring collection, the picture frame & hooks would make a super gift for a wedding....all very reasonably priced £10 or under!

PUFFINS!!

One of my customers has a passion for puffins! I've created this oxidised silver puffin necklace which I think captures the character. As puffins are such cheeky little birds I'd quite like to make a collection of pieces; earrings/brooch & cufflinks.

I've also had a new delivery from Glazed & Amazed.......

Mr Whiskers has arrived!

I've just taken delivery of 2 new pieces by Roy Dutton at the studio....

My favourite is Mr Whiskers (as cats are always the best!) but the double birds are also very appealing - they would make a lovely wedding present. Once again these pieces are made from reclaimed wood & metalwork sourced locally.

Baby blue tit rescue!

Well the weekend was a success in Cheltenham with lots of interest in the metalwork panels & pictures in particular, it was a good opportunity to promote the forthcoming Five at the Factory exhibition in Hampen.... more on that shortly!

We had some extra excitement on Sunday when a tiny baby blue tit decided to try it's wings out next to our stand. After we found it on the pavement we decided to probably safer to try & put it back up into the tree. Mum & dad then came back & fed the little cutie but a further 5 rescues were required! Here's hoping the little chap survived the ordeal ok?

Today I've had another delivery from Stoneware Birds... The blue tit design is still my favourite, especially after the weekend. I feel a piece of jewellery may develop too........

Roy Dutton New Supplier at Studio

Just had a new delivery of work from local sculptor Roy Dutton. I met Roy at some of the Craft Markets last year and thought his work would fit into the gallery really well.

His latest pieces have been inspired by the work of John Maltby - who I greatly admire too!

Roy describes his influences as the things he sees in his everyday life, and credits his work as having a simple, rustic quality to it. By avoiding over finishing the wood, he allows the natural texture to prevail. Roy has a great passion for wood, loving to work with native English timbers, mainly oak, elm and yew and often reclaimed timber, such as driftwood.

Fold Studio New Arrivals

I have recently added some more artists to the work I stock at my studio...Murgatroyd & Bean make fabulous funky animals from various fabrics including vintage finds. Based in Herefordforshire. I first saw the work at one of the Art Markets I was doing this year. I fell in love with the quirky creatures!
All the pieces are hand embroidered freehand meaning each piece is unique.
