Garden inspiration

On Sunday I took a few pictures in mum's garden (inbetween the wind & rain!)
Really like some of the textures... particularly the dried 'Love in the Mist' & amazing Alliums. I've used these in my studio displays at Christmas time - sprayed silver they look stunning.

BIG CHICKENS HATCHED

I had a thought at the recent Upton show that I'd like to make some larger scale pieces for the garden.....These funky chickens are the result....they work really well among the beautiful flowers & foliage at the Fold.

These hens & roosters stand approx. 1metre long on sturdy sticks to push into the garden.
Priced at £44 each they will have their first outing at Ledbury Arts Market on Friday 10th July!

1st day in Bunny Studio

Today I've finally got organised & started my long planned one day a week out of my Bransford studio working from a space in the garden at home in Worcester. We had replaced the roof & insulated the 'shed/summerhouse' last year for which the resident rabbit Duke is very grateful!

The idea is that I can get lots of work done with no phone, customers or computer! I want to work on some new ideas & sometimes you just need the space to do it...

I have been entertained by the wildlife though this morning with a baby blackbird & a cheeky squirrel.

Fathers Day ideas.....NEW greetings card designs

A customer recently commented at the studio that most of my greetings card designs were more suitable for ladies than men. Hopefully I have addressed the balance slightly now with my new designs.....

With fathers Day coming up on 21st June one of these designs might fit the bill...I'm open to suggestions for further ideas!

This year seems to be whizzing by... It's Gardening Show time again & I shall be exhibiting with the Worcesterhsire Guild of Craftsmen once again at the Malvern Show.

This is my first major show of 2009 and is usually a very busy event.

Fingers crossed for good weather......

I'm working on pieces for this event at the moment which hopefully I shall complete in time!

Hartlebury WGDC shop

Hello...

Yesterday I popped over to the County Museum at Hartlebury where the Worcestershire Guild have a permanent craft area within the shop.

We've just changed the display over to a more spring like theme (although it doesn't feel very 'Spring like' today!!). I've put in some garden sticks & a selection of garden related jewellery pieces.
More information about the guild can be found on the website
